                      Koh Yao is an island located at Pungna Bay. As it was closed off from the sea, there was a traditional fishery custom by using folk wisdom tools. They lived a simple and religious life. However, after 1997, there were an increasing number of tourists visiting Koh Yao. This encouraged villagers to get more interested in helping tourism management and earning more income. Thus, they gathered and set up “the community based of koh yao homestay”.

              Home Stay is a program that gives you the opportunity to be the guest of local people and is an easy way to learn about the lifestyle in Koh Yao Noi. You will stay with your host family in one of their bedrooms. Most of the activities in this program will be organized by your host family. While participating in the Koh Yao Noi home stay program, please respect the traditional customs   of the local people. Female tourists should not wear any shorts   or skirts above the knees or sleeveless shirts. Alcohol is not allowed in your host family house. However, alcohol drinks are available in some restaurants.

          Swimming suits are acceptable while on the beach. Credit cards are not accepted on the island. ATM machines     and Internet cafes are limited.

Welcome to Santisook Resort at Yao Noi

                   This group of 10 bungalow style rooms, five single and five twin, is set facing the glorious Takao Bay on the north eastern side of the island. Spectacular views out to Krabi and Phang Nga Bay are a plus and a sunrise breakfast here is a must. Each bungalow is unique in design and all have mosquito nets, bedding and fans.

                   The owners Mrs Tanom and Mr San give a very warm welcome to all visitors and do their best to speak as much English as possible. They have years of experience in the tourism business but remain humble and willing to bend to accommodate your every need. Santisook is especially good for families with children as there is a large expanse of grassland to the front and Takao Bay hosts extremely shallow waters.

                    Ideal for sandcastle building and beach games. It is also the type of place low budget lovers or honeymooners would enjoy as it is peaceful and at the same time homely with the presence of Tanom and San as sort of Mum and dad figures.
                 The restaurant does a wide range of Thai dishes and some Western breakfasts depending on availability of foods. Rooms are from 8oo – 1,000 Thai baht a night and all forms of transport can be arranged inexpensively.

The Paradise Koh Yao Noi

                Located in Phangnga Bay between Krabi and Phuket, Koh Yao Noi wows visitors with abundant natural resources on land as well as under the sea. Many tourists travelling there said they would want to keep the island just the way it is, as their secret escape. The island is quite small, only 15 kilometers north to south, and about 40 sqkm in size. It is a home to 5,000 people, mostly fishermen and farmers. Some 30 households on the island are members of the tourism club. They can accommodate up to 150 people at a time. Guests can observe the local  way of life via the homestay experience and the eco tour. The Koh Yao Noi Community-based Tourism made by the club won it the World Legacy Award 2002 and the Award for Outstanding Performances 2007 and a certificate endorsing quality of homestay service, relevant facilities and activities.
